Status

The Light Path Academy does not currently issue certificates or credentials. This policy establishes their meaning in advance, so that credential functionality is built to a standard already published to students.

What a certificate will represent

A certificate issued by The Light Path Academy will represent completion of the academy requirements associated with the specific program, level, course, or learning experience identified on the certificate. It represents what the student did within the academy, and nothing beyond that.

What a certificate is

Unless explicitly stated otherwise through a separately verified external accreditation or licensing relationship, academy certificates are academy-issued educational credentials.

What a certificate is not

Academy certificates should not be represented as:

  • College degrees
  • Government licenses
  • State licenses
  • Professional licenses
  • Accredited academic degrees
  • Government certification
  • Authorization to practice a regulated profession

Honest representation

Students are asked to describe academy credentials accurately when referring to them elsewhere. Misrepresenting an academy certificate as an accredited, governmental, or professional credential is addressed under Academic Integrity.

Questions about this policy

Until a published contact address is configured, students may raise questions, accessibility difficulties, privacy requests and complaints through the channel they used to enrol.
